“Friends After School at Trinity” :-
Is a Club for 5 to 10 year olds.
We start at 3.30 pm and finish at 5.00 pm.
The children
are invited from all the Primary schools in Oadby.
We aim to
cater for all children in Oadby, regardless of ethnic or religious background.
The aims of the
Club :-
To show, through a Christian awareness of
Love and Forgiveness,
1)
How to learn to live
together in peace.
2) How to learn self discipline and respect for others
3) How to work as a team, to enable all to achieve their best.
4) How to share what we have with others.
THE PRINCIPLES OF THE CLUB :-
1)
Everyone is needed as
we can all do something well.
2) Words should always be kind and truthful.
3) Taking turns and sharing are good things to do.
4) We can be friends with everyone and learn from those who
are different.
THAT’S WHAT WE’re
ALL ABOUT, BUT HOW DO WE DO IT?
WE HAVE FUN!
HOW?
we
come together about half past three after the children have finished at
school. The children have a drink and a biscuit when they can talk to each other and to our leaders about
their day.
They can have a quiet time and watch a video, or use up excess
energy by running it off in the hall!
The children are in ‘teams’. Points are earned
through various activities; points can also be gained or lost to encourage good
behaviour and teamwork, in this way, at the end of each term, we have a winning
team .
At the moment the teams have the names of ‘Dolphins’,
Lions’ and ‘Sharks’
We have Team games, usually a physical game, but sometimes a ‘finding’ game
or a ‘skills’ game.
We have Team Time when the children can decorate their ’Team Board’, write
stories, do word puzzles,
draw, or do anything else that brings them together, or
expresses their individuality.
We have ‘Story Time’:- The reading of a
short story that the children can talk about afterwards.
Plus Birthday Celebrations
Computer
games
We have activities:-
Painting
Crafts
Lego, Board games, Twister
…….
Quiet games;

We have ‘Circle Time’ and ‘Song
Time’ to finish with.
