JENGA
Definition :
Jenga - : a derivative of the Swahili word meaning to build.
Jenga is the name for the
youth group which meets on Sunday evenings. Our members range from the age of
13 through to 18 and we spend most of our time involved in social and fun
activities.
Our meetings typically take place
between 8.00pm and 9.45 and include a chance to catch up on what’s happening
(otherwise known as gossip!), refreshments and then a ‘Bit at The End’, when we
spend a few minutes of more serious time thinking, discussing and praying about
spiritual and moral issues.
Whilst the group is primarily
made up of young people connected with the church, this is not a barrier to
membership and we would like to feel that as a friendly and welcoming group,
all would feel able to come along and join in.
Our activity programme is
planned on a term by term basis and broadly ranges from various games and
sports to trips out and then quizzes, video evenings etc. based in different
people’s houses.
In the summer months we try
and get out more with games at the park and also our annual car treasure hunt.
